What we offer for medical doctors (MDs)
Consocio has four courses targeted for doctors. Each course is taught by our trained instructors.
Interview Preparation
Preparing for interviews for residency and/or fellowship programs can be intimidating. Consocio can work with you so you can be the best candidate for whatever position you want to obtain.
Whether it is for positions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia or elsewhere, our instructors can practice with you and provide constructive feedback so you feel confident when your interview time comes.
Occupational English Test Medicine
The Occupational English Test (OET) is the English-language skills test used by accreditation agencies and governments in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Ireland.
Consocio will work with you on preparing for the exam. Whether your weak points are speaking, writing, reading or listening, our instructors will guide you with the right study tips, practice time and lots of feedback.
Presentations
As a doctor, you will most likely be asked to prepare for a presentation at some point in your career. With English being the standard language for medical conferences, it is important to prepare and prepare well.
Presentations at medical conferences, case presentations for hospital rounds, and even seminars for medical students or journal groups are some of the areas Consocio will work with you on.
Communication with Patients
No matter if you are working as a doctor in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or elsewhere, it is important to communicate effectively in English with your patients, not only so that they can understand you, but so that you can understand their concerns and problems as well.
We can work with you to build confidence in your speaking and listening skills through practice patient encounters so that you are well prepared to take care of your patients.
Journal Review and Preparation
In your medical career, you will probably be asked to prepare a research paper for publication. This can be challenging, as your language must not only be correct, but also your data must be presented well.
Reviewing journal articles (journal club review), abstract and journal preparation and writing advice, as well as proofreading are areas Consocio teachers can work with you on.
Lessons with MD Teachers
There are times that you want to work with an English-speaking doctor about your goals. You may not have any connection to someone like that, or you are in an area that it is difficult to work with English-speaking doctors.
Consocio has American-trained doctors that can work with you on whatever you would like to work on.

50 Minute Lessons
Our 50 minute lessons are a good option if you have more time to focus on what you want to achieve.
Available for 1 (one) lesson a week OR 2 (two) lessons a week.
Lessons are fixed to the same day and time every week.
Lesson courses are monthly.

All lessons are 50 minutes each.
Lessons are conducted over Skype.
Lessons are private, so it's only you and your instructor.
Feedback is given in the lesson.
Written feedback is also sent after every lesson.
Materials
Each course has its own materials.
Materials are created by Consocio or sourced from appropriate texts.
OET lessons use both Consocio materials and OET text-sourced materials.

Instructors
Our Professional Teachers
Our teachers come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Every teacher has an English language teaching certification. The certifications are either CELTA, TEFL or a university degree in TESOL.
All teachers have university degrees.
Our teachers also come from a variety of different backgrounds. This includes university studies and job experience. Many teachers have spent time outside of their native countries - either for study or for work - so they can relate to you concerns about living and working overseas.
